Rainbow

Almost rained.

Almost rained.

This picture is over a week old, but last night I was reminded by thunderstorms about it.  This was one of the best rainbows I’ve seen in the backyard for a long while.  Almost a full double rainbow, and looking west was a brilliant sunset.  God’s creation manifest for a few minutes.

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.”

It was interesting that on the east side of the sky was a rainbow, the sign that God will not destroy the earth with a flood because of sin.  On the west side was a sky that looked to be on fire.  He promises that next time “fire” will be the tool of destruction.”   We are between those two times now.  It is time to escape.
